Home Innovation Research Labs Achieves Fire Testing Accreditation

Home Innovation Research Labs is proud to announce the accreditation of our fire testing lab by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). This prestigious accreditation marks a significant milestone for the lab, resulting in the expansion of its scope to include 31 methods for fire testing. The addition of these new methods enhances the lab’s already robust testing capabilities, providing comprehensive fire safety testing solutions for the building industry.

The A2LA accreditation process is rigorous, involving thorough evaluations of the lab’s quality management system, technical competence, and adherence to international standards. Achieving this accreditation underscores Home Innovation Research Labs’ commitment to excellence, accuracy, and reliability in its testing services.

“We are incredibly excited to receive A2LA accreditation, which reflects the dedication and hard work of our team,” said Deanna Seale, P.E., Lab Director at Home Innovation Research Labs. “The expansion of our testing scope to include 31 fire test methods allows us to better serve our clients and support the industry with cutting-edge research and testing capabilities. This significantly enhances our services and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to advancing building safety.”

The newly accredited fire test methods cover a wide range of fire resistance, combustibility, and surface burning tests that are essential for evaluating the safety and performance of building materials and products. This expansion enables Home Innovation Research Labs to provide an even more comprehensive suite of services, supporting manufacturers, builders, and regulatory bodies in ensuring that products meet the highest safety standards.

“We are extremely proud of our team’s achievement in obtaining this accreditation,” said Mike Luzier, CEO of Home Innovation Research Labs. “This expansion not only strengthens our position as a leader in building product testing but also demonstrates our unwavering commitment to improving the quality, durability, affordability, and sustainability of the buildings in which we live and work.”
