Home Innovation Research Labs Recognizes 2022 NGBS Green Partners of Excellence

Builders, Verifiers, Architects Applauded for Helping Promote Third-Party Certified, High-Performance, Green Building

This month, Home Innovation Research Labs recognized 122 NGBS Green Partners for outstanding contributions to advancing green building in their communities and their commitment to voluntary, market-driven, third-party certification of high-performance homes. NGBS Green, which is based on the ICC 700 National Green Building Standard® (NGBS), has certified more homes than any other national green home certification program. Having now surpassed 415,000 NGBS Green Certified homes, the program is grateful for the momentum that our dedicated builder partners have seeded and continue to nurture.

There were individuals or companies recognized in several categories – NGBS Green Verifiers, including some newly-accredited “Rising Stars;” Builders; Multifamily Builders/Developers; Green Advocates; and Architects. Once again this year, we also make special recognition for those who have exhibited long-standing, continual excellence through our Legacy Recipients who have been named a Partner of Excellence for 5 or more years. Being recognized among this elite group of green certification participants validates the commitment they have made to providing their customers with increased value, comfort, durability, and efficiency through its NGBS Green Certified homes.

2022 NGBS Green Partner of Excellence

“Historically, Home Innovation has marketed NGBS Green Certification as a way for builders to differentiate their properties from others in the market for financial success, which is still very much the case,” said Michelle Foster, Home Innovation’s Vice President, Sustainability. “But it’s the dawn of a new business environment. We’re now happy to see the market shifting to a new way of defining success, beyond just monetary gain. Due to an increased focus on ESG goals by investors and buyers, builders and developers are drawn to the program to demonstrate their commitment to a broader spectrum of environmental measures and their connection to social and management factors. NGBS Green is part of a new kind of success where builders and developers are striving for their companies to be sustainable and resilient and inclusive and profitable. Win, win, win, win!”

In recognition of their excellence as NGBS Green Partners, leadership in the field, and unwavering commitment to high-performance homes and multifamily buildings, below are the 2022 NGBS Green Partners of Excellence (Multi-year “Legacy” recipients are indicated in bold green text):
