Home Innovation Research Labs conducts tests and provides certification of plastic plumbing fixtures for conformance to the requirements specified in the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC). Lavatories, shower receptors, shower bases, bathtubs, whirlpool bathtubs, and sinks must meet the criteria outlined in either CSA B45.5/IAPMO Z124 for Plastic Plumbing Fixtures or CSA B45.8/IAPMO Z403 for Terrazzo, Concrete, Composite Stone, and Natural Stone Plumbing Fixtures. Whirlpool bathtubs shall comply with ASME A112.19.7/CSA B45.10 Hydromassage Bathtub Systems. Pressure sealed doors within a bathtub or whirlpool bathtub enclosure shall comply with ASME A112.19.15 Bathtubs/Whirlpool Bathtubs With Pressure Sealed Doors.
Fixtures used in a plumbing system shall be listed (third-party certified) by a listing agency (accredited conformity assessment body) as complying with the approved applicable recognized standards. The Laboratory Services Division of Home Innovation Research Labs holds the following credentials:
